You do not need a gym membership to build strong glutes. These are the exercises I used at home for years, and they still form the base of my training today.
1. Glute Bridges
Lie on your back, feet flat, and drive your hips up by squeezing your glutes. Pause at the top for two seconds. Three sets of fifteen is a great start.
2. Bulgarian Split Squats
Elevate your back foot on a chair or sofa and lower into a controlled lunge. This one builds strength and balance at the same time.
3. Step Ups
Use a sturdy chair or stair. Drive through the heel of your working leg and control the way down. Add a backpack with books for extra resistance.
4. Donkey Kicks and Fire Hydrants
Perfect finishers. Slow reps, full squeeze, no swinging. Your glutes should be burning by the last set.
How to Program It
Train glutes two or three times per week, leave a rest day between sessions, and focus on progressive overload. Add reps, slow the tempo, or add resistance every week. Consistency beats intensity every single time.
